01Trial & billing

Your first seven days are free. After that, membership is $14.99 per month or $129 per year, and you can cancel anytime. Reading and posting on Roots, and the crisis lines, are always free. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Crisis resources stay free, always, whether or not you subscribe.

02Cancel anytime

No questions, no guilt. Because your subscription is managed by your app store, you cancel there:

  • iPhone / iPad: open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Steel Magnolias, then Cancel.
  • Android: open the Google Play Store, tap your profile, tap Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions, choose Steel Magnolias, then Cancel.

Cancel before day seven and you won't be charged. If you cancel later, you'll keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.

03Delete your data

You can delete your account and personal information at any time from Profile › Account in the app, or by writing to privacy@steelmagnolias.app. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information, including your Receipts, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Is this private?
Yes. Most of the app, including your Receipts, is private to you and encrypted. You choose what, if anything, to share with the community.
Is this therapy or legal advice?
No. Steel Magnolias is peer support and general information only, not legal, medical, or mental-health advice. For your situation, please talk to a licensed professional.
Do I have to use my real name?
No. You pick a handle when you join, and that handle is all other members ever see. No real names, no photos. We do hold your email address privately, because you sign up with it, but it is never shown to anyone in the community.
What are Receipts?
A dated, encrypted record of what happened, written or recorded in your own words. Private to you, and yours to keep. Never shared with the community.
Who can see what I post?
You decide. Posts and replies in the Oasis, Gardens, and Roots are shared with other members according to the choices you make when you share them. Your Receipts and private messages are not part of that.
What does it cost?

How do I cancel or delete my account?
Cancel anytime through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, and delete your account from Profile › Account in the app. See managing your account above for step-by-step help.

Women 18 and over who are going through a divorce, or rebuilding after one, and want a private place to talk, ask questions, and feel understood.
